2023 SF Scores
  • Congratulations to the team and coaches!
  • Read any emails that come your way, and check the regional website frequently.
  • Make sure your judges have registered for the tournament.
  • Make hotel reservations if you will need them. Tournament day starts early.
  • Hold a pre-tournament meeting with parents.  Make sure everyone is on the same page.
  • If you have special schedule requests, make sure to submit those to the Tournament Director
  • Practice Spontaneous
  • Plan how to get the team and props to the tournament.
  • Schedule practices between now and the tournament.
    • Continue to practice your solution.
    • Evaluate your scores from Regional Tournaments.  See where you can improve.
    • Teams are allowed to change any aspect of the solution. Scores can help guide with this.
  • Keep an eye on the Odyssey of the Mind website for any new clarifications
  • Keep an eye on the Michigan Odyssey website for any tournament updates.
  • Be sure to refresh both pages to make sure you have the most up to date information.
  • Practice Spontaneous some more
  • If you want to order Michigan pins, t-shirts or swag, consider ordering ahead at the MI Odyssey Store.
  • Get your Long Term competition paperwork ready.  This will be turned in when your team arrives at the Staging Area. You will need:
    • 4 copies of the Style Form
    • 1 copy of the Cost Form
    • 1 copy of the Outside Assistance Form
    • 4 copies of the Team Required List
    • 4 copies of any team submitted clarifications (if applicable)
    • Don’t forget to give an extra set of this paperwork to another coach or parent, just in case….
  • Get your tournament paperwork ready.  This will be turned in at the Registration Area when the Coach arrives.
    • 1 signed Coaches Code of Conduct for all Coaches
    • 1 signed Media Release Form for every Coach and team member
  • And…. Practice Spontaneous some more.
